III. Needs Qualified for Sharing A. Only needs qualified for publication according to basic CHCN Guidelines, except for their being licensed motor vehicle related, will be published in SMV. B. All needs must first be submitted to insurance or any other party responsible to pay before they are submitted to Samaritan Ministries. C. A need will not qualify for sharing if it is related to an injury that occurred after the injured person became a member of SMI, but before their effective date of enrollment in SMV. Similarly, a need which occurs after a member has allowed his SMV participation to lapse, and then re-enrolls, will not qualify for sharing even if it relates to an injury that occurred during the member's earlier participation in SMV. Such needs may qualify to be shared as a Special Prayer Need. See Basic Guidelines, Section V.A. D. Licensed motor vehicles included in the SMV ministry are cars, trucks, buses, street-legal motorcycles and any other motorized vehicle licensed to travel on public roads as well as motorized boats and all aircraft that must be licensed/certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and for which a license/certification by the FAA is required in order to operate the aircraft. E. The initial unpublished amount applies to a vehicle injury need just like any other need, except the amount is $1,000. The initial unpublished amount will apply to every vehicle injury need no matter how many have occurred within one year. See Basic Guidelines, Section VI. B.2 F. When there is an SMV need that is more than $100,000 (after exclusion of the initial unpublished amount), the amount of the need that exceeds $100,000 will not be eligible for publication. G. An SMV member must be current in sharing with all CHCN needs assigned and must be a member of SMI in good standing, current with all annual fees, to have an SMV need published. H. SMV needs are not eligible for publication in Save to Share™.
