February 2023 sharing disclosure

Each month we provide a sharing disclosure of members’ eligible medical expenses and contributions for the previous 12 months. Below is a glimpse into the impact members have made from January 2022 to January 2023:
Shared Eligible Medical Expenses: $376,529,585
This total includes all medical expenses submitted by members that are eligible for sharing among the membership according to our Guidelines.
Contributions from Members: $416,547,153
This total includes all member contributions for other members’ eligible medical expenses ($373,751,705 during this time period) and to the office for additional giving and administrative expenses ($42,494,620 during this time period).
Prorated Medical Expenses: $6,270,356
This total includes the amount of eligible medical expenses that were not shared in full but instead at a prorated percentage due to more eligible medical bills than member contributions. Whenever eligible medical expenses are prorated, Samaritan encourages additional giving among the membership and contacts affected members to try to match them with this additional giving.
Average Days to Share: 53
This number represents the average number of days from when a medical bill is initially received in our office to when it is initially assigned to other members to contribute toward through their monthly Share amount. Due to the nature of once-a-month assignments of eligible bills, our Guidelines state that this timeframe is typically between 60 and 90 days.
