Members in Samaritan Basic have lower monthly costs than Samaritan Classic and a sharing rate of 90% for qualifying bills. Sharing starts once a need exceeds $2,000, which can be reduced or eliminated by cash-pay discounts. Medical needs related to injuries, acute illnesses, or accidents are shareable in the first 3 months of membership; some conditions and treatments have a 12-month waiting period.
100% Sharing Percentage
Members in Samaritan Classic have higher monthly costs and a sharing rate of 100% for qualifying non-maternity medical bills and 70% for qualifying maternity bills. Sharing starts once a need exceeds $1,000. A Two-person membership, or its equivalent, is required for maternity sharing in Samaritan Basic. Maternity needs have a $5,000 sharing limit.
